Every year, the Fort Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce puts on a fantastic party to commend local outstanding businesses. Flashworks Photobooth was honoured to return to be a part of the 28th Annual Fort Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Gala.
When guests arrived to the DOW Centennial Centre they walked down a wide red carpet toward the reception table. From there, they could get formal photos taken by Don Carter against a black backdrop and more impromptu shots with our props in the photobooth. Everyone had a riot trying on the props and coming up with wacky poses. Even the mayor got in on the action!
Once inside the Lions Mane banquet room, guests were treated some sensational decor with a blue, black, and white theme. A banner indicating the Diamond, Platinum, Silver and Bronze sponsors for this year’s event stood at the entrance, while each round table was draped in black with tall centerpiece of white roses and pale blue hydrangeas on a blue satin square. From the ceiling hung long flowing waves of white fabric interspersed with strings of white mini-lights. Each black chair cover was accented with a silver bow of tulle and a special area with black and silver curtains was set-up for harpist Samantha Spurrier’s enchanting melodies.
The vocal talents of Gwynne McMaster and Natalie Smadis commenced the dinner with the Canadian National anthem. The exceptional dinner was followed by a wide assortment of desserts, after which comedian Greg Morton took the stage and entertained everyone with a hilarious set of movie summaries and imitations, and remembrances of childhood toys.
During the awards presentation the Fort Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce recognized the achievements of the business community. There were seven categories of awards selected by a panel of business peers from nominations submitted by the community. These included: Small Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Employer of Choice, Customer Service, Manufacturer/Industry, Home-based Business of the Year, and New Business of the Year. Also awarded were the Terry Douglas Award of Excellence and the Ken Hodgins Meritorious Service Award.
Thanks to all of the organizers of this great event and thanks for inviting us back!
