This cozy, close knit wedding in the Quartz Ballroom at and the Matrix Hotel was very intimate and sweet.
Jasmine and Kurston, and the friends and family who organized this wedding put considerable creativity and fun elements into it. For example, when the bridal party had their entrance, they all came in wearing different little costumes such as scuba divers, bugs, robots and so forth. The bridesmaids, wore a deep red, strapless, a-line, knee length dresses with an thick empire waist band and a cute bow tying it all together. The groomsmen sported the classy black vests and black ties with the white shirts.
The MC’s, being Jasmine’s friends, had introduced the couple seven years ago and presented a succinct history of the couple. Afterwards, they introduced the kissing wheel, in place of the clinking of glasses. If the guests wanted the couple to kiss, they would come up to the front and spin the kissing wheel. There were 7 categories: show the couple what type of kiss they have to replicate, dance all the way back to their table, give a tip into the tip jar which would be used for the bride and groom’s honeymoon, give marriage tips or sing a love song, etc. The bride and groom had made a remake of the movie, “The Hangover.” It was side splittingly funny! Then, a video played covering the Beatles song, “Something,” created by a friend of the newlyweds who was unable to attend. He was only member out of a seven member boy-band wasn’t able to make it to the wedding but he did his part to make an appearance with this fantastic video! The whole bridal party had speeches, stories, and videos to let the young couple know how much they mean to them. Both Jasmine and Kurston are very smart and there were comments all night long about how nerdy they were together but the videos really showed their wild sides! Kurston’s uncle had a very touching speech about how when Kurston was younger, he looked up to him and wanted to be just like him, and now he’s the one who looks up to Kurston now.
All the housekeeping rules had preceded dinner, a nice summer spinach salad topped with strawberries and vinaigrette, a fresh salmon dish with dill cream or a delicious steak, potatoes and sautéed vegetables was served for the main course. Dessert included a fruit & pastry mix along with the bride and grooms cake, which was made from finger licking red velvet cupcakes.
After the formal program came to an end, more games were played. There was a race to see which couple out of 4 couples could take a grapefruit, place it in between their stomachs, and roll it up to their mouths without using hands. It was very hilarious to see the different techniques being used and to see grapefruits dropping everywhere. Another game was to test out the bride and grooms communication. There were 3 pins hidden somewhere on the groom, and Jasmine, being blindfolded only had Kurston’s voice to guide her in finding the 3 pins! They were quite a team! A tea ceremony was also done while the games were being played. When the games were done, the bride and groom shared their first dance to “To Be Close To You” by the Carpenters. The DJ’s were friends with the bride and groom and they played a wide variety of music from line dances, oldies, top hits and the romantic songs.
Flashworks Photobooth loved seeing everyone dress up and get silly in the photobooth! The young and old both had fantastic time making funny faces and making memories in the booth!
Here’s to love, to laughter and to happily ever after! Congratulations Jasmine and Kurston on your beautiful wedding!
