Compass Directional held their annual Christmas Party at the stylish Halo Steak, Seafood and Wine Bar Restaurant in Calgary, and this was the perfect venue for an intimate gathering of friends and coworkers. The dark earth tones, hardwood floor and ceiling, leather furniture, and warm lighting with translucent red fixtures provided for a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The tables were named after liquor makers (i.e.: Smirnoff, Bacardi, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, etc) and were decorated with black tablecloths and contrasting red napkins to match the decor of the restaurant. Each guest and their companion was assigned a seat at a place setting featuring a special Christmas Purdy’s chocolate in colourful packaging.
Upon entering the establishment, guests could place a donation of a child’s toy for the Alberta Children’s Hospital on the table provided. People mingled and chatted during the cocktail hour while servers circulated with flutes of champagne. Once dinner commenced, guests could make a dinner selection off Halo’s spectacular menu followed by a choice of delectable dessert.
Guests received three raffle tickets which they could put toward three great prizes: a Nintendo Wii New Super Mario Brothers Bundle, a blue Canon Powershot digital camera, and a 16gb iPod Nano. All of the raffle ticket were also entered into a draw for three baskets of chocolates. But, before the winners of these prizes was drawn, Benton graced everyone with a number of melodies from his bagpipes.
However, upstairs was where the party really got going. It wasn’t until about 9:27pm that guests were allowed to open their mysterious envelops containing some colorful funny money. It was revealed to the guests that the Halo “Lounge Upstairs” was available for their use, as well. There were a number of blue gaming tables where guests could pursue Lady Lucky and a dance floor where the DJ from “Music by Starlight” spun a variety of energetic tunes from across the genres and also took requests.
Thanks to Compass Directional for inviting us back to entertain their employees for their Christmas party. It was plain to see that everyone had a fun evening and appreciated the extra thought and consideration spent on their behalves. Congratulations to Laura and Maria for organizing another fantastic party!
