Boardwalk’s elegant Christmas party was held at the Shaw Conference Centre in the expansive Hall D. As guests entered the reception area, they were welcomed by greeters and received hardcovered, leather-bound appointment books. Servers circulated with wine while people help themselves to tasty hors d’oeuvres and appetizers arranged on tables draped with black fabric and accented with bunches of white roses in tall glass vases. A pianist played pleasant Christmas music at the far end of the foyer ane the whole area was full of holiday cheer.

Within the spacious banquet hall, the floor to ceiling windows provided a spectacular night view of the river valley. A huge Christmas tree in one corner was surrounded by pretty gift boxes and poinsettias, was studded with so many lights that the tree seemed to shine. The main stage in front of forty-nine tables was flanked by two huge stuffed toy bears. Next to the stage, a plethora of raffle prizes were presented including items such as an HP laptop, $200 worth of Eagle Rock Golf Course and accessories, a blue-ray player, a movie night basket, a Power Tool Package, and a 50” flat screen TV.

The impressive dinner consisted of six choices of appetizers and entrees with selections of seasonal vegetables, pyrogies, cabbage rolls, roasted salmon and mussels.  There was also garlic and herb roasted turkey, and honey mustard glazed ham. Decorating the buffet table stood a meter tall ice sculpture Christmas tree.

To conclude the meal, an abundance of extraordinary desserts left nobody wanting. There was cranberry/blackberry flan, mango pudding, dark chocolate raspberry mousse, squares of cheesecake, fresh fruits, an more.

Following dinner, and after each raffle prize found its owner, the celebration really took off as the dance floor filled up and a line developed at the photo booth.
