The Grant MacEwan South Campus Students’ Association has a knack for putting on fun and energetic events for the student body. Flashworks was happy to be back to take some of the stress out of exam time!

With a “Here Comes the Sun” theme, this spring celebration in the MacEwan South Student Lounge gave students a chance to unwind for a few hours or at least, in between their classes. The round tables in the lounge were set-up with green tablecloths and colourful potted flower centerpieces with sparkly pinwheels and butterflies. Numerous paper lanterns hung from the ceiling and paper poppies were affixed to a central column in the room.

Near one entrance to the lounge, students could get a free airbrush tattoo courtesy of Air T.A.T while they listened to the musical musings of 100 Mile House and Corin Raymond. However, the largest draw was quite obviously the free hamburgers complete with salad, potato salad and drinks, and the cash bar. Students could also fill out ballots for a prize draw consisting of two $25 Cineplex gift cards, two $25 Best Buy gift cards, a $25 Safeway gift card, and an Epiphone Acoustic guitar with a pickup and case.

And as usual, the Flashworks Photobooth was quite a hit. It was fun to listen to patrons trying to get the perfect shot. From pairs to groups of seven cramming into the booth, everyone had a great time accessorizing with the props and grabbing their friends for a photo-session.
