Bollywood style meshed with wedding decor as Mandy and Gopi celebrated their special day at the Capilano Conference Centre, in extravagant style.

Guests arrived to enchanting Bollywood music and entered into a candlelit room filled with a large number of tables to accommodate the substantial family in attendance. Chairs were draped with white chair covers and black bowties, and seemed to glow in the illumination of the ambient blue lighting. They didn’t have to wait to indulge in the Indian delicacies. The buffet-style meal was replete with food such as fish kapora, chicken balls, chicken samosa, chilli paneer and stuffed mushrooms, all reflecting the delicious cuisine of the Indian culture. Guests could even see their food on the big screen as the wedding’s videographer captured the details of the evening. Once everyone’s appetite was satisfied, the official program began with the wedding party walking down a candlelit staircase to their seats, in a scene that seems as if it were pulled out of a Bollywood movie. A number of speeches ensued where close family and friends shared their memories and experiences of the bride and groom, and toasted them with wine glasses held high. In the middle of speeches, a compilation of images depicting comedic and occasionally embarrassing moments from Mandy and Gopi’s past, were shown and much enjoyed by all in attendance. The speeches were then rounded off by the bride and groom, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for all the guests who attended their special day and the significant events that have led to this point in their lives.

Following the program, the room exploded into a cultural celebration of dance with what seemed like the whole crowd expressing themselves through carefree movement. Even given the intensity of the dancing, a good number of people enjoyed themselves with the Flashworks Photobooth as well, accessorizing with our goofy props and striking ridiculous poses.
