We’d like to congratulate Kaeli and Graham on their wedding and a fantastic and fun reception at the Santa Maria Goretti Centre.
Family and fun were the name of the game at this well attended and elegant wedding decorated in black and white damask and accents of vibrant colours. Upon entering the hall guests could sign the guestbook and view their seating arrangements. This guestbook table showcased a multitude of black and white wedding photos from past family weddings along with a picture frame encompassing the quote, “Other things may change us but we start and end with family.” Colourful orchid and fuscia flowers adorned branches in a glass vases on this table and as centerpieces on the guest tables. The colours of the flowers matched the wedding party as the bridesmaids each wore a black dress accented with a brightly coloured scarf in purple, orange, turquoise, yellow, bright pink, and navy blue while the groomsmen matched with their striped ties. The black wedding favour gift boxes each containing a kinder surprise was positioned atop of each place setting and were tied with ribbons of different colours. This is significant because when Graham proposed to Kaeli, he painstakingly took apart a Kinder Surprise egg replacing the toy inside with her engagement ring. Just off the dance floor was a wide assortment of candies and cookies, as well as Kaeli’s and Graham’s Fudgeo wedding cake.
During the cocktail hour, guests were treated to the graceful melodies of the Stringbeans Quartet, and when the wedding party entered into the hall they did so to more classic music in the form of John William’s “Throne Room” theme – the music from the last scene of Star Wars: A New Hope. The rest of the evening was equally entertaining with the MC introducing the bridal party with fictional facts about them, and three of the groomsmen dressing in pink dresses and posing with the notoriously camera-happy bride in a proposal reenactment.
However, in addition to the laughs there were also many heart-warming and inspiring instances during the program. The Bride’s mother spoke through tears as she welcomed Graham to the family saying she would miss finding Fudgeos in the pantry, but grateful that she would not have to miss him as he was now part of her family. She also spoke of the song “5 Pennies” that had special meaning to the family and how when she was battling cancer her daughter would leave 5 pennies at her bedside for here when she woke up. It was all very touching.
Later in the evening, instead of throwing her bouquet, the bride honored the couple who had been married the longest with a game that started off with the MC asking for all the married couples to stand. Starting at 10 years and progressing by decades of marriage, gradually married couples would sit down leaving the couple married the longest at 57 years standing. Kaeli and Graham walked to them to give them the flowers as the entire hall clapped and cheered.
The first dance of the newlyweds was to Van Morrison while the dance with the parents was to a traditional Irish song. The DJs from Revolution DJ Services ensured that everyone was perpetually in motion and having a great time.
Kaeli and Graham, you had an extraordinary wedding and a deep sense of family was plain to see throughout the evening. Congratulations on your special day and Flashworks Photobooth wishes you both all the very best in live as you begin your lives together.
