Beena and Roger had an absolutely fantastic wedding at the Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe in downtown Edmonton. Congratulations to you both!
Guests were invited to attend the marriage ceremony before the reception and prior to entering the ballroom, were able to sign a photo-guestbook with their well-wishes for Beena and Roger. This table was dressed with a purple tablecloth and adorned with numerous cylindrical vases containing white orchids submerged in water and topped with floating candles.
Following the ceremony, guests could partake in cocktails, appetizers and photobooth fun in the adjoining room while the ballroom was readied for the reception. The decor within the prepared ballroom was exceptional. The head table was elevated a step above the rest of the ballroom. A row of tall cylindrical vessels of different heights containing floating candles stood before the head table on sparkling white drapery. The table itself was covered with a creamy white tablecloth that hung off the edge in elegant drapes and which exposed shimmering silver convolutions beneath. At the center of the head table sat a wide arrangement of purple and white orchids, while behind this entire display stood an elaborate backdrop of flowing material lit with purple highlights at the edges. And just to the right of the head table stood a cupcake tree topped with a round white cake accented with purple ribbon and icing buttons. Atop were four purple orchid blooms and two circular medallions reading “Buddy” and “Pickle.”
Each guest table was dressed with a purple tablecloth and centerpieces of white orchids in water-filled glass cylinders with floating candles. Every seat was covered with a white satin chair cover that was accented with a bow of purple fabric. Upon a satin napkin neatly folded at each place setting rested a small pouch filled with “mukhwas,” an after-meal snack and breath freshener.
Prior to the bride and groom entering the ballroom, guests had the opportunity to learn some Bhangra dance moves, care of two instructors arrayed in colourful traditional attire including headdresses. Shortly after, Beena and Roger made their grand entrance to a different variety of music, namely Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” and ensuing some introductions and amusing speeches, four Bhangra dancers entertained everyone with lively moves set to equally energetic music.
A first rate meal of traditional east Indian food was catered by the New Asian Village and after dinner Beena and Roger had their first dance to Adele’s “Love Song,” which kicked off the dance for the evening.
Beena and Roger, congratulations on a beautiful wedding! Flashworks Photobooth was honoured to be a part of your special day and we were happy to entertain your guests from near and far and pleased to see some familiar faces. All the very best to you both!
