Kevin’s and Shauna’s wedding reception was one that was filled with love and happiness that could be felt by all those present.
The room glowed with candles which gave an air of romance to the entire ballroom; large white candles covered the mantel of the fireplace and illuminated the bride and groom beautifully at the head table. The tables were decorated with large, ornate iron-rode centerpieces which held a top a beautiful arrangement of flowers, including baby pink roses and white carnations. The overlays on the table were also hand sew by the bride herself and added to the intimate feeling of the reception: gold lace overlays with a thick gold satin band around the edges. They were stunning and complimented the ivory satin chair covers beautifully. The bride was also busy preparing two large banners that hung on either side of the screen near the dance floor; the first was a lovely portrait of the newlyweds and the other was a charming outdoor picture in a winter wonderland of the couple holding each other tightly. What a fun way to display the happy couple on their wedding day!
The ballroom was also decorated with simple, long chains of clear jewels hanging from the ceiling over the dance floor, in addition to a disco ball, which added a subtle but romantic amount of glitz to the party. By the front entrance, the bride and groom had a table with pictures of themselves as young children (so cute!) in addition to a picture of each of their parents’ wedding day and of their grandparents. What a wonderful way to share past special moments with the other guests at the reception!
The fun continued after the meal when the bride and groom were asked to take a seat on the dance floor sitting back to back to one another while holding one of the other’s shoes. A series of funny and entertaining questions were asked and the happy couple had to answer each question by holding up one of the shoes depending on who fit the answer best, in their own opinion! This game brought about many laughs and smiles across the room and ended with the sweetest question of all: “Who do you love most in the entire world?” Naturally, each held up the other’s shoe and was followed by a loving kiss! The newlyweds then danced their first dance as husband and wife to Etta James’ “At Last”; What a beautiful sight they were as they held each other closely on the dance floor and indulged in all the love and happiness that could be felt by all.
Afterwards, the DJ played a real mix of music that had everyone shaking it up on the dance floor; the music was flowing from every realm of the music world, including the Beegees “Stayin’ Alive” to Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)”. The guests also enjoyed the photo booth and had great fun dressing up with props from the prop box and taking loads of pictures! Guests were piling in to take memorable group shots of the night and had a real roar looking at the pictures afterwards with the other guests.
Congratulations Kevin and Shauna on your wedding day and all the best to you both as you continue your lives together as husband and wife!
