Extreme Engineering Christmas Party

Extreme Engineering returned to the Hotel Arts for this year’s Christmas party.

Within three of the Spectrum ballrooms, a dozen tables were setup with classy black tablecloths and black napkins, and each place setting’s water with floating cranberries added a touch of the Christmas season. They featured two different types of centerpieces. One type consisted of a funnel shaped vase containing boughs of pine mixed with sparkly silver foliage and bulbs. The other was a tall cylindrical lantern filled with silver and gold ornamentation, and peacock feathers. The walls of the ballroom were lit with blue and white wall washes which matched the photobooth very nicely  ;P

Guests mingled for the first hour after which a tasty and beautifully presented meal was served. Following a black and white chocolate cake, a few speeches were given recognizing the individuals celebrating their five, ten, and fifteen years of service to the company. Each award was warmly individually presented with a personal story of their history with the company and a few anecdotes as to their character.

Upon the conclusion of the official program guests received $20,000 in funny money with which to play roulette, blackjack, red dog, poker, and craps at a dozen different tables in the adjacent Studio room. With their winnings they could then bid on a variety of items such as such as an iPad, tools, kitchenware, and Christmas ornaments. Guests could also purchase additional funny money with proceeds going to CUPS, the Calgary Urban Project Society dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome poverty.

Thanks to Randi and Avril for organizing this first class Christmas party. And thank-you, Paul, for remembering about us from last year! We had a great time with all of your guests!
