The SVS Group celebrated an evening of fun in recognition of Movember at the warm and cozy Old Timer’s Cabin.

Located on Scona Road in Edmonton Alberta, the Old Timer’s Cabin is exactly what its name suggests!  A cabin made entirely out of logs that has withstood the test of time and is now home to many more intimate celebrations throughout the year. One of those celebrations was the Movember dinner that was held by the SVS Group firm of Chartered Accountants. About a dozen tables were set up in a simple yet attractive fashion, consisting of a smooth black cloth and black chairs surrounding each one. Guests came into the main cabin room and immediately started to socialize with colleagues before curiosity led them over to the Flashworks Photobooth centered near the front of the room. Although some had not tried a photobooth before, they decided to wait until after dinner.

A buffet style dinner was the main course for the evening, followed by an all-you-can-eat fresh fruit desert bar. As the guests finished their meals, the 50/50 draw had begun. The draw was in support of Movember (Moustache November), a month long event involving the growing of moustaches to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and associated charities. Guests who donated a specified amount in support of Movember month were entered into a draw for something very special happening later into the night.

After some fantastic photo sessions in the photobooth, seven lucky winners in the 50/50 draw were allowed to be the throwers in a pie throwing exhibition! The victims of these plates of whip cream? The men who were all growing Moustaches in support of the month. Each draw winner got to choose their lucky victim, who ended up getting a face full of whip cream. Not all bad though, as the guys who got a face full of pie thought it was delicious!

It wouldn’t have been all fun if it was only the seven draw winners, so later into the night the head boss of the SVS group decided to be the sole target of anybody who had donated a specified amount in support of Movember month. The whip cream was flying all over the place and the room was filled with laughter by the end of the night.
