WEMfest 2013 was excellent! And wow, it was busy, too.

The atmosphere at the ice rink for WEMFest 2013 was lively and very fun right from the start with VIP special guests lining up early and watching the behind the scenes action. Coca-Cola was the event sponsor so of course, red and white was very prevalent with the massive LED video screen on stage, branded tents, and banners and stickers. Coke had a display and unique contest where one had to perform five acts of random kindness with a picture of each to win Coca-Cola merchandise.  And free cans of coke were everywhere! Other vendors on site included EB Games where the show goers could play a few games and on the opposite end of the rink, the ladies had a “style salon” sponsored by Eveline Charles and Merle Norman. Virgin Radio and our friends from 91.7 The Bounce were also in attendance. In fact, the event was hosted by Arisa and Ara from The Bounce.

Another vendor, Hi Tech Productions made their way all the way from Calgary to demonstrate their new Emulator touch-screen DJ surface, the only system in western Canada where the DJ can control the music and video concurrently. Dan and Ronin showed the show-goers (including Tyler Shaw and the Oducado Twins) how to use the system and it was really fun watching them play with the controls and mix their own tracks in real-time.

The day started with a dance performance from the NXG Company followed by a Kore Dance Studio dance battle and fashion show showcasing some back to school attire. Then the most anticipate part of the day finally arrived. Starting at 3pm, live performances by the Oducado Twins and Tyler Shaw drew quite the crowd, as did the 104.9 Virgin Radio Justin Timberlake Grand Prize giveaway. All eyes were on Dragonette at 4:30pm and the entire day wrapped up with an autograph session with all the artists from the afternoon.

From start to finish, our Flashworks Photobooth was packed! With Coca-Cola branding on our side screens and on the print-outs, and our LEDs turned to red, our booth was the perfect fit for this event. We had a great time taking in all the festivities and meeting everyone who hopped in the booth.
